Veneer was chipped near the binding which you can see somewhat on the 2nd pic.Man that was a good looking one! What was wrong?
Black dust from sanding the binding got into the pores of the top and headstock veneer making it look dirty on close look.
Very generous dose of finish accumulated near the tip of the headstock.
All very minor, but all very basic craftsmanship flaws that could have been easily avoided.
Like I said my expectations may need to be adjusted a bit at that price point.
In retrospect, given how the top looked and how great it felt and sounded I think I was crazy to return it.
If you see it showing up again, buy it as it's exceptional.
