Almost NGD: McCarty 594 S2

It’s been quite a while since I have had a PRS. I sold my P22 a few years ago as I couldn’t seem to bond with it. Just got back into the PRS world with a new S2. It’s in transit right now so I haven’t even played it yet. I don’t normally like buying online but there just don’t seem to be many of these around. The 594 has intrigued me quite a bit as I love vintage and PAF sounds - particularly humbucker guitars. I have had many Les Paul’s but my only current Gibson is an Explorer with Burstbucker’s (2 & 3). It’s a great guitar as well. Anyway, here is a picture of the S2. It seems to have some pretty good flame.

I think you'll love the body shape. It's incredibly comfortable. Not to mention the sounds...……….and the pattern regular neck has become my favorite.

I hadn’t seen that thread or that review that is definitely good news. I had the P22, which I mentioned, but I also had a PRS SE Santana model. I didn’t bond well with either of those. I am hoping the S2 with the short scale and nitro finish will be just what I need. PRS makes such beautiful guitars that I really want one in my collection.

That’s ironic. I also put a Firebird in my reverb watch list the same night I bought the S2. I didn’t pull the trigger and the next morning someone else had nabbed it. I bought the S2 and figured I would have time to consider whether or not to buy the Firebird.

If I don’t like it, I will give you a shout. I really hope that I do like it though. I have wanted a PRS in my stable for a long time. I hope the playability and tone are as good as YouTube contributors suggest. Also, the beauty on this one seems really great.

Man, I was hoping to come home from work today to find this new guitar. FedEx has been saying for two days that today was the day. Turns out it hasn’t even left the State that it started in. Weather. Ugh!
