How do most of you feel about PRS embellishments, such as custom truss covers? Do they effect the value? Or is best to leave everything original?

Just keep the original one. I really don't think a thrust rod covers gonna hurt the value. I stay away from changed tuners(ones that need new holes drilled), electronics, sanded necks.

Whatever changes you make keep the originals. I don't think a truss rod cover matters that much, as long as you have the original to go with it.

It's like house appraisals -- it depends who you get. In the case of guitars with mods, it depends on who ends up buying the guitar. Some appraisers value what you've done to the home, but most of them base it on what everyone else values it at, and that's: size, condition, location. And since you can't guarantee that someone will want a particular upgrade, then I wouldn't do it for the purpose of raising the value of the guitar.
