Adapting Phase III Locking tuners to SE Paul's Guitar

Has anyone tried to replace the Vintage Kluson style tuners on the SE Paul's guitar? It looks to me that the tuner holes in the head need to be enlarged to 9,5 or 10mm and perhaps filling then re-drilling the screw holes. The screw holes look like they would line up pretty well, (just eyeballing)

Phase III mounting holes line up with vintage tuners. You may have to ream for the post and there will be a footprint of where the vintage tuners were on the back of the headstock.

The grommets don't need to be changed out persay. The Phase III will work fine without changing those, I did not change mine and the Phase III fit perfectly.

You will need to slightly ream the back of the head stock for the tuners to fit flush...that will need to be done. I posted my work 18 months ago or so when I did the swap.
