57/08 bass in treble position

I have an original 57/08 neck PU in a drawer. In the neck postion I found it too warm sounding (read bass heavy) in my CU24. I prefer a brighter pickup in the neck postition.

However I imagine it will be a nice balanced PU in the bridge position. Has anybody tried this?

Give it a go, it can't hurt.

I put a Vintage Bass pickup (which looks to tonally similar) in the bridge position of my Zach Myers with a custom built neck pickup and it works great. If you don't like it you can always remove it.

I use a 59/09 neck pickup in the bridge of my 277 SE and it’s really nice. Couldn’t hurt to give it a go.

I know it is kind of sacrilege given the mythical status the 57/08 sometimes have, but i noticed that I - getting older - have very specific ideas about what works for me.

Btw, I like the 57/08 treble a lot in my CU24 ;-)
