2013 se custom 24 problem

Hi all,

Recently my SE custom 24 has developed an ice pick sound. By that I mean the sound of the pick striking the strings is really sharp, staccato like and the notes don't have a nice initial tone and ringing quality. This happens in all the blade switch positions and with the push/pull up or down. The setup is really good and I don't think its the amp because my SE Paul Allender sounds as good as it always has.

Since both pickups give the same ice pick sound I'm thinking it could be something in the electrical harness. Does anyone have have any ideas?

Is there a push-pull switch on the tone knob? Maybe its broken?

Yes and as I mentioned the problem happens in both the up and down position.

Duh... Sorry, I don't read so good. :redface:

Do the pickups sound the same regardless of the position of the push pull? I mean, do you hear them splitting and then 'bucking? I ask because mine broke and I'm hoping that's your problem.
