I am looking at a new PRS SE 24-08 Standard because I really want the split coil capability. Aside from the pickups being Tap Coils, what other differences are there between the Custom and Standard model? I’m not sure if the Standard is considered nice than the Custom.

I believe the only difference is that the standard has a mahogany body..

Thanks for the response, that is what I thought, but I was confused at the Standard is actually less than what I paid for my SE Custom when I bought it. I wasn’t sure if I was missing something. Being a lefty, I’m happy to see there are other models available for lefties. I wanted it for the split coils, I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t something else that I needed to be aware of. I try to support the brands I love and show appreciation to those companies when they offer left handed models.

Both have a hog body, but the custom has a maple top. The standard is all hog.
I have been so impressed with the build quality of the PRS I currently own. I have Gibsons and American made Fender Strats and IMO I think the build quality of the PRS SE is better than anything comparable in price from Gibson or Fender. I rarely play any other guitars since I bough it. The Casino is the on other guitar I play. If PRS would offer a Piezo in lefty, my Casino might be retired.

No the ONLY real difference is the Standard doesn't have the Maple Cap and flashy Maple veneer - therefore its a 'cheaper' and 'simpler' construction but Hardware is the same. That's why these are 'cheaper'.
