Hey everyone,

I'm looking to purchase my first PRS. Seller isn't sure if it is a 1998 or 2008 CE 22. He did say there is a 5-way toggle, but I can't seem to find specs for these years.

Anyone know offhand if either year or both have a 5-way toggle?

thanks!

I don't think they're is such a thing as a 5 way toggle only a blade. I may be wrong though.

I think he means the 5 way rotary? In which case, either a 98 or an 08 would have that.

Have your guy look at the serial # and you will know for sure.

Thanks for the info guys, really appreciate it. Well, judging by Detroiter711's info this is a '98. I went ahead and bought it for $1K - I can evaluate and return if anything is terribly wrong with it.
Is this a decent price for a '98? Now the waiting game until it shows up at my doorstep...

Great find!
Def a 98. Matte logo on headstock, winged tuners, DII pickups.
Gorgeous color. Guitar Center? I recognize those leather hang straps anywhere.

Now if they would only string it correctly!

Haaahhaa. Yes, Guitar Center. They had a couple CE 24's for a little more but 24 frets just felt a little weird to me, plus I'd most likely never use the extra 2 frets anyway. Thanks for all the info guys.

you'll be surprised I was always a 22 fret player then in 2008 I got my 24 fret guitar and you naturally end up exploring the very top of the fingerboard and utilising those extra 2 frets cos you can and they are there (not all the time obviously but occasionally when you can't bend to that high note on a 22 fret guitar you just hit the note normally on the 24)
