Isolate Tone Control for Bridge on Custom 22

Hello Everyone,
I'm trying to isolate the tone control to my bridge pickup on my Custom 22. I saw a thread on the McCarty but not sure if that applies since I have a 5 way switch. Electronics is not my strength so would appreciate any help.

So I tried disconnecting tone wire from volume pot and soldered onto 5 way switch to hot (red) where the bridge pup connects. On the wiring diagram it's called bridge red (B). It works, but there is new noise, very audible and seems to be there when I'm picking. Went back or original wiring and noise is gone.

Thoughts? Do I need to run another wire somewhere for the noise?
