Hello forum buddies, I was wondering which tubes I should purchase for my Dallas 50 Watt 6L6 amplifier. I'm hoping to purchase the correct tubes so that I don't have to do any bias adjusting. I'm getting a fuzzy sound whenever playing low notes. Is there a complete set of tubes I can purchase to avoid a bias adjustment? Thanks for any help. Much appreciated! David

Hey David! From Doug Sewell himself (because I replaced them in mine about 2 months ago), he recommends the Tube Amp Doctor 6L6GC-STR. I have been extremely pleased with them in mine!!

You still have to bias it. It doesn't matter what type of tube. Any new set needs bussing.

The good news is that adjusting the bias on a PRS amp is bone-simple. You can do it with a very inexpensive multi-meter.

With most amps it's a real pain in the rear.

Be sure to order a matched pair, and while you're at it, check the preamp tubes...

Most of those I saw originally had SED Winged C's. Expensive but they are considered one of the best new production replacements out there.
