I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't seem to find it...

I put new heavier gauge strings on my S2 Mira and ran through all the usual setup steps. Everything is perfect except that the A string buzzes when played open or on the first three frets. Since I don't want to screw up the other strings, adjusting the truss rod or string height (adjustable stoptail bridge) aren't options. The only solution I can think of is to raise the string in the nut. Any suggestions as to the best way to do this?

Put a little piece of old string underneath it, in the nut slot.
