Having spent some more time with it, this is a very "hot" guitar. It's great, but it needs turning down to get more manageable sounds - very much old-school in the way it needs control that way, but it's incredibly versatile. It's a beast!

I have a Les Paul Standard if that's what you mean? I tried a 594 SE the other day and *loved* the neck. I might go for a hollow body 2 at some point in the future, but nothing's imperative at this point.

I am still curious to know if any 'name' players use the SHH as their main instrument.
 
I have the newer model with the LTs. I really like it. Agree that is clearly based on the Super Eagle but you can’t access the middle pickup by itself and there’s no onboard preamp. For me, it’s a more laid back sound.
