I would so love one to play one of those! What a beautiful guitar.

Looking at the photo i see things about the Santana I've never noticed.

#1 is that the bridge pickup seems to be mounted closer to the bridge itself than it is on guitars like my CE22's and other PRS guitars.

Is that standard for a Santana?

Wow, good eye! Yes, indeed it does appear so! I just checked my West St. Limited (a Santana-style guitar) and it's like this Santana Retro, too. Whereas on my "regular" Custom 24 the treble pickup & bridge have a larger gap between them. I wonder if this is somehow a consequence of the Santana being 24.5" scale vs. the 25" scale of most other PRSi.

I don't think so. It must be Carlos's tonal preference.

Maybe because the neck pickup is moved towards the bridge pickup to allow for a 24th fret he wanted to increase the distance between them again by moving the bridge pickup towards the bridge? It would affect the tone when the two pickups are combined.

That's all I can come up with!
