NGD - Singlecut Goldtop with dots

I just got the goldtop back from the shop. I had the controls changed. Now it has a single volume pot and two tone pots. The volume is where it is on the McCarty original layout. I don’t like two volumes.

Man, these Amos pickups are amazing.

That’s a KILLER axe! I’d have no restraint if I found one of those at a shop. Gold tops have a special spot in the heart, my guitar teacher had a ‘56 Gibby gold top with P 90s, it had the sweetest, richest tone.

I really love it, too. The set up is perfect for me. The action is as low as possible without buzzing. The pickups sound huge. The guitar only weighs eight pounds.

I love having the single volume knob. This way, I don’t absentmindedly go for the wrong knob. Having two tone pots is key so that I can set them and forget them. I left the pot and knob in place for the one that is no longer wired. Just for show.
