Hi all,

First post here, recently acquired my first PRS, a McCarty 2 from 2008. I wasn’t too familiar with the McCarty 2, and struggled to find a whole lot of info online about them, but it’s such a beautiful guitar to play I had to snap it up. It also happens to be the perfect colour for me too in McCarty burst.

I also picked up an ES335 too, here they are together!

Congrats and welcome to the Enablers Club! You will need to make more posts before you can post pictures, and you'll have to use a third party host(many of us use Imgur) to post from. Now get posting and let's see some pics!

Have since put gold speed knobs on the PRS, and have some amber ones coming, not sure which way I'll go.

Welcome Willsy182! If you are still having troubles posting pix, there are a few threads on the forum that can help you out. The one I did includes a video and a PDF and also has links to all the other ones I am aware of -

If you are interested in sharing any of the music you are doing with your gems, here is the place to post that stuff - https://forums.prsguitars.com/forums/studio-stage.68/

Congrats on the new axes!

Happy pickin'!

Thank you mate, much appreciated!

I’m banking the amber will be a nice match to that burst! Congrats! Always thought the idea of a Mc2 was a cool idea but they should’ve tried it on the custom 22 instead since McBuyers were usually going for a classic vibe when going after that guitar and probably didn’t want modernizations.

You're right mate, I put the amber speed knobs on, perfect fit, will have to get some updated pics.
That's pretty much the vibe I got when researching it, probably seems a little bit unnecessary in this model, and for me, I have a Strat, so if I'm that sort of tone that's what I'll pick up. Still, the overall feel and playability of the guitar mean I had to have, regardless of whether the I use every bit of it.

Remind me, how are the electronics different from regular McCarty? Is the mini toggle a vintage/modern switch of sorts where it changes from active to passive or something? There are not a lot of these around.
