NGD: 2012 P22

Unfortunately, P22 pickups are labeled "P22" whether they're 53/10's or 57/08's or probably 58/15's. If I read your serial number correctly, your P22 is an early/mid 2012 guitar. I think that's before they switched from 53/10 to 57/08 pickups so I think you have 53/10's.

Just email PRS with serial number and they can tell you what pickups,color.I bought an 2012 nos and it had 53/10 ,sounds amazing!!!Good luck.

So I've emailed PRS Customer Service as suggested above and here is their reply:

Hi Brian,


Thanks for contacting PRS Guitars.

From the photo your P22 appears to have a one piece maple top. The pickups would be P22 which are 57/08s that were designed to work with the P22 piezo.

The color is Whale Blue.

Interesting! I like 57/08 pups and have been hoping to score a guitar with a set back then, so I guess I lucked out on this one

Well, PRS should know but I sure remember the switchover from 53/10 to 57/08 pickups happening in late 2012/early 2013. That's part of the reason I purchased my Experience 2012 P22 in January 2013. They had announced that you could no longer buy 53/10 pickups separately hadn't announced the 2013 lineup yet. I figured I should get one with 53/10's while I could.
