As a kid my parents always used to play Mike Oldfield tapes on long trips in the car. I didn't really realise how influential he was on my playing until listening to a lot of his stuff again recently. Not just the commercial stuff like Moonlight Shadow and Man in the Rain (amazing playing on those!). "Earth calling" album is all exclusively his PRS signature I believe ('89 Signature, not a Signature model as such!)

Very interesting how organic a lot of his stuff sounds, can all be reproduced live on real instruments.

This concert is particularly good. Lot of vintage PRS too!! He is playing a VY '89 Signature and I think a sunburst '89 Sunburst with Roland Synth. Also plays a hollowbody for the Moonlight Shadow solo. Man in the rain has a great solo...is he using effects or just the Power out of Phase setting (works for me!)

So for some vintage PRS porn live check it out! The gorgeous lady singing is Pepsi from Pepsi and Shirlie!!! (also backing singers for Wham back in the day!)

Love Mike Oldfield, probably the single most audible influence of mine. Thanks for sharing, will cue it up when I get home.

It s a good concert!

The album I meant that was all PRS was Songs of Distant Earth. Some nice tones!
I love that album, haven't listened to it in a while, good excuse to cue it up. Thanks also for sharing the PRS connection, that was news to me (haven't really paid attention to who played what until recently).

To France is a great song.
I know next to nothing about his music but I know he's a it of a lone writer doing whatever the hell he wants. I kinda see myself in him in that respect.

Edit: Outcast sounds great!
