Katalox neck??

Hi Redguitars,

I believe that its the same family as rosewood (I may be wrong though) but is a very closed wood texture.

Its super slick and genuinely feels incredible in the hand.

It's sometimes called 'Mexican ebony' or 'Mexican Royal ebony' if that helps search out more details on it...

Technically, Katalox is neither ebony or rosewood, but tone wise, I think it is a close facsimile of ebony. I played an artist package Custom 24 with a Katalox board and it seemed to have that ebony zing. A full neck from this wood I would think would not only impart great sustain, but a very quick attack and clarity.

What the heck is that?

I think it's both a neck wood, and one of the medications they gave me in the hospital after my surgery.

Yup, it's a prescription. For...tone. ;)

I'm just tickled with myself for thinking of this clever turn of phrase. Heh.
