Wouldn't the black burst be paint?

The burst edge would be. The black/ gold stains in the center would not.

Don't leave your guitars exposed to commercial grade fluorescent room lighting for too long. I ran across a "new old stock" guitar in a small, out of the way shop one time that been exposed to the overhead lights for a very long time and they did quite a number on not only the finish but even the metal hardware. It wasn't pretty.

I would never deliberately try to make aging go faster. I'm happy to take all the time required for me and my stuff to look old.

They lose all the hair on top of the headstock, but then hair grows out of the tuner buttons, right?

Damn, I hate being old. I like my guitars to look young.
