Bad things will happen if you mismatch impedance. Heh heh, a lesson I learned firsthand a couple times in my teens.

Back in 1973 my dad and I went and looked at a used Fender Bandmaster head and matching cab with bad speakers.
We bought it and new speakers later which I think were CTS, and luckily we got it right when wiring it up.

The previous owner had some crappy speakers in it.
