How Fine To Go on Grit

Hi there.

I’m going to sand a Warmoth Body and then finish it with a poly wipe.

Question please:
How fine do I go with grit?
Is there such a thing as too fine?

Typically 320 is fine before finish , If you go to fine in the wood side it is difficult for the finish to adhere. Once sprayed , Wet sand starting at 400 and going to 3000 then polishing compound.

Will satin or semi gloss poly buff to a gloss as well as a gloss poly using polishing wax?

Can I use a wax polish on a headstock face finished in linseed oil to get a bit of shine?

a small dab of oil well rubbed would be a better choice if it's rosewood, I use a q tip to apply in the tight places.

The body is coming along nicely with four coats of poly wet sanded between every second coat.
Is that fine or should I be religiously wet sanding gently between every layer?
