Ok we can stop complaining about high priced PRS's ... $550,000 for a 58 Bigsby guitar ... cool but OUCH

Terrific book...

A lot of denial from Fender lovers.

But Paul Bigsby came up with the Fender headstock shape.

Been saying the same thing for years, and posted a black and white pic of that very guitar on the forum.

Leo Fender and Paul Bigsby were friends; my guess is that Paul had no objections to Fender's use of the design. If he did, he didn't make a stink about it.

What's also interesting, given that the guitar predated both the Fender stuff AND the Les Paul is the body shape. It's very Les Paul-ish.

Read the book. You might be surprised.

Paul made a fortune off his Bigsby vibratos. But he didn't make a dime off of Fender, while maintaining that he invented the Fender guitar.

Fender tried to claim the peghead originated with some Croatian instruments. Or the side view of a violin peghead.

Rubbish.
