Different colors for contrast?

Gents,

I purchased my first PRS this past year, a DGT and have been performing / recording for many years with mainly Fenders. As I do a little more digging on PRS guitars I notice that they like to mix different colors for certain parts. For example, pickups with black slugs on one coil and gold screws on the other. Or many bridges that are chrome but have gold/brass saddles. Even my DGT, it has white pickup rings but black screws? Also, the tremolo bar tip is black but the other plastic is white? I see this on a lot of guitars and for me personally I don't care for it. So, in most cases is it some kind of tone mojo Paul has discovered or just a preference?

Thanks.
