Hi folks, I was chatting with the PRS team in the UK about sourcing some custom ebony pickguards for my 2012 core Mira, but it's not something I can get through the system, so I'm wondering if anyone knows someone (ideally UK-based, but EU too) who could make a couple of pickguards?

I'm going to do some repositioning on pot locations and change the blade for toggle and accommodate the other mods I added years ago finally. Just need a supplier.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, D.

I would be interested as well. Not for a Mira, v
But for my Starla, for exact the same reason. However a non laminated ebony puck guard will be prone to warping or cracking. I would like to find a laminated version

Hi.
Did you find a pickguard? I’m restoring a 2008 Mira.

Same but for my Vela. I was thinking about exactly this the other day. I have a spare black pickguard and some really beautiful Imbuya veneer left over from a set of speakers I built. I just might give this a go!

Not RIP, just busy (both in life, and finding a solution for the time being).

Gone are the days when I live on the forums sadly.

I did end up finding a solution, not exactly what I wanted in terms of material type, but I was able to get some blanks from a random ETSY store of all things. It wasn't perfect, even tho it was supposed to be a 1:1 replica, lots of sanding and fine tuning to get a good fit.

I'm still wondering if there's a way to get anyone here from PRS who can maybe release the original cad files for the core pick guards and I can approach someone here in the UK. PRS EU said thay can't help at all, and at least, now that I've got the layout I want, if I can combine that with the layout I need, then I should be set.

Since the model is discontinued, and they've stopped even selling spares on their own store, I can't see what the harm would be...

I'd still love to do this in a nice ebony, but it'll absolutely do for now.

That's great! I bought a Mira PG off of Amazon last week. It's a cheapie, at $10. I was going to add another mini-switch to separately switch the splits.

I'm guessing you did a DGT-style two volume, one tone? That's an awesome idea! Saving some space by going to a switch instead of a blade, too!

Yeah, tbh, it's personal peeve of mine - blade switches - that's why I bought one of the core 35th anni models - finally back to a toggle switch 😍

Indeed though, 2 volume, 1 tone, individual splits - I put a 2.2k Ohm resistor on the ground path as I got more oomph from the pickup when split this way.

That's also the added gain of the short shaft switchcraft toggle - less space consumption too, still a tight squeeze, I had done this layout with the blade on another Mira of mine years ago (https://forums.prsguitars.com/threads/introducing-the-mira-kinda-408-standard.7764/), but that's also getting the switchover to the new wiring layout (no pun intended).

Also added the adjustable bridge to that one, will likely do for korina too:

I originally tried the toggle up by the bridge p'up, but I found my hand hit it an awful lot, so this made sense for me in the end. To each their own on positional preference of course.

Some other pics on the way:

That is just an awesome collection of resources and ideas! Thank you!!
