Custom 22 Special

Hi, just wondering if there is much difference between the Swamp Ash Special humbuckers and the 245 humbuckers on different versions of the Custom 22 Special, and how they go with the single coil? Thanks.

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to help. The only special I know of was built before 245 pups were invented so I can't give you what you are looking for. The PRS website says this about the special:

SPECIAL: 1988 - 1991. Developed for the ‘hard rock/metal player’, wide-thin neck, trem-up routing for a full tone up, volume and tone controls with 5 way rotary, HFS Treble pickup, PRS single coil in middle, HFS Bass pickup (changed to Vintage Bass humbucker by 1989).
