Was wondering what the best solution would be for replacing the nut on a PRS Angelus standard? Should it be made of bone? Compensated? Thanks for any help! David
All kidding aside though, there's nothing "wrong" with bone. Bone is the original material, and any luthier you would entrust your PRS to can work with it. There's always TUSQ but people either love or hate the brighter tone, and there's usually an extra charge beyond the material cost because it's less forgiving to carve than bone. Compensated nuts like the Earvana often require widening the nut slot.
