My girlfriend asked me the other day why I don't have an acoustic guitar. I said because I suck at playing them. Her response?

"How can you get better if you don't have one to play? Find one for Christmas."

My reply?

"What?! Are you serious???"

She nodded. So the first thing I did was jop on Martin's page and show her the $51,000 thing they sell. Her response?

"Ummm....yeah, right. Be realistic!"

We laughed and I hopped on Dave's page. I looked at the PRS SE acoustics. Saw a couple I liked. Then I proceeded to read reviews and watch a variety of videos.

While tempted by the Angelus, I decided to go Tonare. Our goal is to do a singer-songwriter thing with occasional gigs. I wanted a guitar that would carry fullness by its lonesome. So, I went T40E.

Gotta wait a little while to open it up, but I'm thrilled!!

Dave's pictures, I'm sure you may have seen it...(Flickr is weird with the phone, so sorry for the direct links)

Thanks, all!! Yeah, the girl's a keeper for sure. What do they say? Third time's the charm? We'll see. So far so good.

Regarding the guitar, waiting sucks but it is building the anticipation and desire to play it even more. I think I'll devote a lot of time to working my acoustic skills because of this tactic, lol.

In the meantime, she and I are doing a video Christmas card for family and friends. We're covering "Tennessee Christmas" with a sparse arrangement - just vocals, piano, bass, and drums. Then we're taking a collection of our pictures from our first year in TN and doing a little video montage. It'll be fun. I'm tracking the parts now.

That Tonare would be a nice addition, but she keeps saying "NO!!". Yikes!!

Sounds like a great project
