Buying my first PRS

So i contacted PRS With the guitars serialnumber, they responded quickly and gave me the specs for the guitar. It appears that the back is mahogany instead of korina and the fretboard is not braz.rosewood but cocobolo. Don't know why the store would mix this up, but i choose to believe it's a lack of knowledge.

What is the general opinion of cocobolo fretboard versus regular (Indian?) rosewood ? Regarding the material itself would it be considered an Upgrade?

Cocobolo can be a really cool looking fretboard material, and would usually look different from Indian Rosewood - but like any wood, you can find specimens that have a very uniform appearance (which is desired by some) or a very mixed up full-o-grain and streaking appearance (which is desired by some).

The guitar store sounds a little confused over their specs - you should remind them that Brazzy wood vs Cocobolo has a very big legal difference when it comes to exporting, and they need to be more careful!

Anyway, glad you decided to snag the guitar, it sounds like a winner!
