Anyone ever raise the tailpiece on an SC with the two piece bridge?

Curious if anyone has raised the tailpiece off the deck via ferrules on the SC's with the two piece bridge? I'm used to decking and top wrapping on LP's and other TOM-equipped guitars but my last two semi's, I ended up raising them off the deck and going string through for a nice improvement.

I have some extra Faber ferrules as I decked the tailpiece on my Corsa, needed to do so for more break angle with a top wrap. I pulled the pickups out of my SC-58 in preparation for a set of Rewind JP Pre-72's which arrived today. I managed to swap them in before heading into the office and I also added the Faber ferrules to raise the PRS's tailpiece off the deck. My first impressions were actually quite positive (louder acoustically) but I need a bit of time to set the guitar up and get everything dialed in with the new pups. Once I've gotten that done, I'll go back to the tail decked just to see if there's really any change.

Anyone else try this? Luckily I use inexpensive strings and buy in bulk!
