Hey everyone! I have a ‘98 Custom 24 fret. My 5 way tone pot is locked up after not being used in years. No amount of WD-40 or contact cleaner would clear it up. I decided I would go ahead and just replaced the electronics to get it good as new. That’s where my question resides…
The wiring kit came as a post-2007 design (obviously, since it’s new). My existing wiring is like the pre-2007 in the diagram and the new one matches the current. Do I just straight swap them? It seems odd to me there is no red wire from the tone pot to the switch, but I guess it’s just being passed through the volume pot? Just want to make sure I don’t need to make any changes to the new wiring or bring anything over from the old other than my pickups to the switch. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
