One of the most breathtaking views on the planet. I climbed up the hill a bit to stick this tree in it.
I remember driving into the valley at night and seeing these tiny lights on El Capitan (on left) which is the largest vertical block of granite on earth. The lights were 3/4 of the way up (half mile?), and were the lanterns of the rock climbers in their hammocks. Can you imagine waking up to that?!!
Next time, climb El Capitan for a really spectacular view!
I need to dig up my Colorado pics. This reminds me of one I took in Rocky Mountain National Park. My son and I climbed up a rock formation that overlooked a valley. It was actually near the entrance - and my wife was not amused that we did it. Come to think of it, she wasn't amused the time he and I walked out on a breakwater in MA. She apparently has this thing about stuff she thinks is dangerous, which is why my son is still a college student and not a world-famous chainsaw juggler as I originally intended.
He’s the best! Except when he knocks over the garbage can scrounging for food. I should’ve had my phone out this morning on our walk. His whole face was covered in snow.Great shots Vaughn. Gunther is looking regal.
