You can spread or close the part of the shaft of the pots that grips the knobs, to accommodate most press fit knobs.
But you have to go very gently and slowly to not break them off.
I use a small blade screwdriver to spread them and a needle nose pliers to close them a little.
But be very careful, very slow, very gentle and don't try to do it all at once.
If your knobs are too tight and you have to squeeze the shaft to close it some and make it smaller, you can put the screwdriver in the slot and use to as a safety measure so you don't close it too much when you use the pliers to squeeze,
