What was your very first PRS...??

I Am Also Late To This Party. And I Won't Apologize. I Simply Can't Help Myself.

My first PRS was a Craigslist used SE singlecut of some kind. It had a single volume and tone knob, with a 3 way toggle switch. It also had a soapy in the neck position that wasn't stock. No idea about the bridge pickup. It could have been a stock pickup. Anyway, I played my first gig as an adult with it. I don't have it anymore, but I do miss it from time to time.

Since then, I had a SE Tremonti, an SE Zach Myers and then an SE CU24 that I modded the crap out of and is still my #2. I just recently purchased my first core and hot damn, I'm in love with it.

The OG SE at my first gig where I wasn't in high school (There were many years where I just played with friends over beers and being rowdy without being in any sort of formal group.

And my SE CU24 modded into a 24-08, and the core 24-08 wood library I just picked up.

He shares good info? I wouldn’t know. He prides himself on the absurd pretension of capitalizing every word and condescendingly replies to everyone who comments on it. His style is intentionally problematic; for sighted users it’s challenging but for anyone using screen readers it’s a potential nightmare. I’m disinclined to engage in a conversation with anyone who tries so hard to make the experience uncomfortable. I ignore his posts.
I like Bogner, and because I do read his posts, I respect his thinking on music and gear. Gotta to speak up for my friends. Even if something like this isn't perfect, it isn't harmful.

I think his capitalization thing is more personal habit than pretension. I

It's just a shame he limits his readership, because this whole forum thing is about communication and conversation. The capitalization fetish gets in the way of that.

My first PRS guitar was a McCarty model that I bought used. It was the most affordable core line PRS guitar that I could acquire, having owned a lot of Epiphone and Schecter guitars previously. So it was a step upwards in my journey towards being the snobby corksniffer that I am today. hahaha But I think I photographed it more than I actually played it... because I was also into a particular style of photography at the same time.

Again, I wouldn’t know if his posts are useful because, as I’ve said, his pompous disregard for conventional norms of written English - norms that have emerged over hundreds of years and exist to ensure clarity, legibility and understanding - is so distracting that I have placed him on my ignore list on the forum. It’s unfortunate that you think I do your friend a disservice by calling out this behaviour, but as it is actually demonstrably and quite obviously MORE difficult to capitalize every word in a wall of text than conform to the accepted rules of written English, I feel quite comfortable in my assessment that his behaviour is ego driven and childish. Look At Me. As for it not being harmful, speaking as a dyslexic I can attest that it certainly doesn’t help, and as someone who frequently works with screen readers, I’m sure it would create inflection problems, at the very least. And that’s all I intend to say on the matter.

I notice a lot of folks starting out with the gateway drug CE24. Same as I did. Great guitars, especally the older "just bolt on customs". Great way to get hooked
That's a Cu24. Further proof how great the older CEs were, not that we need any more. Awful guitars! No one buy one. Newbies look elsewhere.. nothing to see, NO not a CE!

Ok, now you've gone too far with with a wall of text! But I guess I endured through another one of your posts! ;)

Well said with poor grammar and all. Content over form. You just may pass English after all. Carry On.. With Your Contribution To Pillar Two Of The Forum Azheimer's Prevention Program. :)

Is it strange to note that I had never noticed the "Cap Every Word" until it was pointed out in this thread? Doesn't bother me apparently. :)

Aw c'mon... the King's English is the source of what many of us speak, and Canada spells it that way, to be fair... :)

I do hope someone will start the "Undies In A Bundle Prevention Program"! I have yet to block/ignore anyone on any social media platform though I am sure some have blocked me (those who can't handle the truth). I know how to scroll past content I don't like for whatever reason ;~)) I can even change the channel on my TV when I don't like what it is displaying. But that is just me!!

As for the capitalization habits of Mr. Bogner, I initially found it difficult to read as my mind wanted to start a new sentence with each word when reading it. I persisted reading his posts for two reasons. First was because he seems very helpful and knowledgeable (and even funny on occasion). Second is because I see things like this as a good exercise for my mind. To be able to look past and work through barriers rather than allowing them to limit me is important in my growth and maintenance IMO. My maternal grandmother did crosswords and word search puzzles and played bridge until her late 90's to keep her mind active and challenged. I see this as a similar exercise and the capitalization no longer hinders my reading of his posts!

Behaviour is spelled like this in Canada, and most countries that didn’t revolt against Britain.

Wow, there are some awesome looking guitars here!!!! wowww

My first,..... the avatar to the left and forum name..... 88 Custom 24 Brazilian FB, Birds, 10 top..... went to Pro Sound Jan. 1988 in Denver to by the Les Paul I'd been looking at and when I got there it has sold, the PRS was hanging there at twice the price, bought it with no hesitation and never looked back,,,,, plenty of PRS followed from Wildwood since Pro Sound closed.

Sorry to derail the conversation, but my first PRS was this '91 metalflake blue special I special ordered thinking I was getting it in a finish I didn't know the name of but could only vaguely describe (multi-foil). I had seen it before I was stationed overseas, and by the time I had gotten back with my savings I suspect they had stopped making it. The sales guy tried real hard to talk me into an Artist for what I was spending on gold hardware and birds, but I didn't know any better.

D4pjnIpUwAAqpuG

Wasn't always financially sound, but I knew that I'd regret selling it, so I always found a way to keep her.
