I was planning that before I received the guitar and decided to hold off ordering until I actually received the guitar.
So, yes, yes I am putting up n a Tortoise pick guard. It will look "right".
Congrats and welcome to the club! One of the best guitar pick ups I can think of. Its just right.
If there's a clubhouse with a bar, dining room, and swimming pool, I'll buy one. Golf course optional.

Have you seen the prices going north……….Congrats! The Vela is amazing. I've had 3, and always use them on trades because I know I can get another and it will rule. Coming next? A Vela semi-hollow in burst.
That's sweet looking. I purchased a PRS Tortoise guard so we'll see how it looks. Thanks for the lead on that manufacturer!I don’t have an Imgur account, but here’s a couple pics of my satin burst with a Quick Guards single ply acrylic tortoise pickguard on the Gretsch forum:

The single ply looks so much nicer than the 3-ply ones with the white center ply IMHO.

That's next style I want to get! Gotta de-vig this one first. Its worth it though. That Vela I shared about at GC in Nashville is NEW!
I really wanted to find a gold oneSweet! Coincidentally, I just picked up a Vela too; a 2018 in Champagne Gold... I had a Vintage White one from the original run but let it go a couple years back to help pay for my Exp2018 Special 22 SH, then I missed it a lot for a while, then this one came my way... Just something about a Vela; they're kind of a force of nature...
