Switching to Duncan pickups...

A friend has a CU24 with the 5 position blade selector switch.

He wants to replace the pickups with Seymour Duncans and he's wondering if he has to flip the magnet of the bridge pickup the way one would have to do that with the old style 5 way rotary switch.

What's the word?

With the old 5 way rotary switch the magnet is always reversed on the bridge pickup and the two humbuckers are out of phase, magnetically.

This is so you still have hum free operation when the single coil choices (#2 and 4 on the switch) are chosen.

When the two pickups are combined as full humbuckers the switch puts them in phase.

But I don't know if the two humbuckers need to be out of phase with the new 5 position blade switch.
