Splitting PRS 53/10s

Does anyone have advice in the best way to split the 53/10s in my P22? Rather than the 5-way switch I'd prefer a 3-way with individual coil-splits, probably via push/pull pots on the volume and tone knobs. Are there other approaches that I should consider, and is this something I can easily trust to a local tech, or should I send it in to PRS when they reopen?

There's gonna be a lot of stuff in that control cavity that will confuse techs who are used to Fender and Gibson circuits. I'd say let the people who built it figure it out -- if those pickups even have the wires to be split.

basically it uses one push/pull to split the bridge, but gives you tons of different options. I’ve done it to my own P22 with several different pickup choices as long as they have 3 or 4 conductor leads.
