I know this is a PRS forum but being guitar players I thought you might like something different. My. 63 stratocaster has been with me for over thirty years she don't she much play anymore since I discovered PRS 20 some years ago,The original pickups and pickguard have been stored away due to warpage and cracking. Just thought I 'd share.

Very nice. I can't compete with a 63, but here's my contribution to Strat GAS... it's a MIM.

I still covet Tim's Masterbuilt heavy relic Strat. Still the best neck tone I've ever heard in my life.

Prob best if we talk about stuff like this in the "General Discussion" section though :)

Argh!!! My eyes are burning lookin' at these not-PRS guitars!
I hoped this was gonna be a Monty Python thread.

Not to worry Sergio I have something wicked coming my way I assure you your eyes will stop burning.

Not necessarily Justamund this is the electric guitar section and PRSH will tell you some of the finest guitars he ever played came from the F/G brand and the instuments we covet so much were inspired by these brands.

True.

But we respect that we're in Paul's house, as the guests of PRS, so we pretty much stick to PRS-related posts in this section of the Forum.

Though I've posted shots of my '65 SG Special in response to certain thread issues.

We do discuss non-PRS gear here, but usually in direct comparison to a PRS this or that. Or the gear in question is not offered by PRS, like pedals. This thread is not in that vein.

I don't come here to see threads about competing guitars.

I may be alone in this, but I think this thread is in poor taste and abuses the free gift of a forum PRS has given us. I personally believe it should be deleted.

Whatever your personal take on it, it certainly does not belong in the Electric Instruments section where members are expecting PRS content.

Well I truly am sorry if I offended anyone just thought it would be interesting I don't believe this particular guitar is in any way shape or form in competition with Prs it's a vintage instrument that I thought some guitar players would like to see so Hans if your out there please feel free to delete once again sorry.

The vintage aspect of the guitar probably makes this more of an historical thread than a competing guitar thread.

Perhaps a thread about a vintage Fender would be better posted on a Fender-centric forum. But I'm pretty sure MIM Strats and the 2 that were in Goat-n-glitter's deleted post would not qualify as vintage or historic.

I could be wrong, perhaps there are more members here than I suspect that would happily wade through non-PRS guitar threads to get to PRS content here.

Thanks Les this guitar hasn't seen the light of day in about 7 years 95% of my instruments are PRS.The friend I got this from and the best man at my wedding just passed away and I felt a little melancholy so that's why I brought it out cleaned it and restrung it she will now go back in the case.Once again sorry if anyone got offended.

As long as the board doesn't get inundated with discussions about other brands, no harm no foul.

When will it be considered inundated? I dunno', but like porn, I'll know it when I see it... ;)
