Hi - Like it says: I bought a new SE Silver Sky in December. I understand that the trem is blocked against the body, so it only works "down" not "up". I'm noticing that it takes a LOT of effort to push it down, so it's almost unusable while playing. Is this normal?

Assuming the tremolo setup is very similar to a strat, you just need to experiment with the number of springs you use and loosening the screws that anchor them. In general, the fewer springs, the easier it will be to push down the tremolo bar.
An example- if there are four springs, try removing two…you’ll then need to tighten the anchor screws to re-level the bridge, but the tremelo should be easier to work.

The Trem is not blocked , it is under tension to the body ( springs are tightened ) so it is hard to move on purpose , if you loosen the springs it will come off the body and float a bit and be useful / or easier to use as a trem
