S2 Standard 24 with birds versus no birds

Newbie here....have my eye on a S2 Standard 24 with Birds....but I see many with just dot inlays...whats the difference?


Also any comments on S2 Standard versus the Custom S2 would be great!

Birds versus dots is just a cosmetic (and $) difference.

Gotcha - Thanks for the quick reply. The PRS line is a bit confusing...just moved to MD so a trip to the factory is on the list!

One thing to note is that unless it's some sort of one-off or a special run, they don't offer birds on the Standard models anymore, only the maple topped S2s. So more than likely, if it's a Standard model and has birds, it's probably a few years old.

Standard is all Mahogany body, while the Custom has a figured Maple top on a Mahogany body.

Are you sure it’s a standard 24? A trip to the factory is a must. Reservations are about a month in advance right now.

Do you have a link or a pic? They stopped doing birds on the Standard 24s back in like 2015 or 2016 I believe, so that doesn't line up. It's either not a Standard or it's older than the tag says. Or it's a one-off/limited run.
