PRS Custom 24 vs Custom 22 - why would anyone get a CU22 when they can have a CU24?

All the instruments I make are 24 , the vast majority of the ones I've purchased have been 22 . The Westie to me has the perfect combination of 24 fret and 24.5 " scale . fit's my hand the best

Do you make them all 24 frets because that's what your customers prefer?

I think Ed Roman suffered from PRS envy.

I made 24 fret instruments because my neck builder preferred them

My 2cents ain't hardly worth that, but on the SE24C I just got the neck pickup in single coil mode falls right about where you see those single coils that are placed between two humbuckers on some high end rigs. I like the harmonic coloring at that spot for single coil. If my preference were to use the neck as humbucker though, the 22 fret argument is strong.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. 22 frets, 24 frets, wide fat, wide thin, pattern regular, d carve, pattern thin, humbuckers, single coil, P-90’s…….who cares as long as it’s blue? Just buy another one that’s different.

I can't believe this thread has gone this far without mentioning the most obvious reason for 24 frets - there's no owl on the 22.
