All my straps and guitars have Schaller strap locks. I just bought a SE Hollowbody II and am retiring an Epiphone. So I did what I always do and took the old Schaller buttons off the Epiphone and attemped to attach them to the Hollowbody using the SE's existing screws.
But!
The button screws on the Hollowbody are a larger diameter than the hole in the Schaller. So I could drill the Schaller out, or better, find a Schaller compatible button with a larger diameter hole. Is there such a creature?
FWIW this was not an issue with my Custom 24 or my McCarty.

SE strap locks are bigger. You either need to use a new Schaller that uses an Allen key (fits perfectly )or swap the screw itself on the older Schaller but the S.E. screw won’t work. It’s head is too big. You are correct. The old style works great on s2 and above with no harm to the guitars
