Pics or it’s an Epiphone or a Hello Kitty ukulele!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please tell me how to delete my post!
You just edit your first post. There's a delete option, but you don't really have to... We're starved for even remotely trollish behavior around here, so you've given some of us a mild thrill.
Your guitars are ugly and smell funny. And they're secretly all blue.
Hey! Nothing wrong with blue!! I don't care WHAT Sergio says!!
And did nobody else pick this up???
3 piece neck...
3 mm crack...
yesterday was the 3rd...
I'm feeling conspiracy here...
Actually laughing out loud......
@sergiodeblanc your eyes must have been lighting up (insert favourite colour here) with glee!
And as we’re doing things in “3’s” @Ken Kelly, welcome to the forum (meant sincerely).
Lesson learnt, the guys on here are very passionate about PRS and don’t take criticism of the brand well, which is fair as we are all fans.
Enjoy your new guitar, as others have said, try not to get too hung up on construction of the neck. It might turn out to be the most comfortable neck you’ve played.
As the other guys have said, have a read of the rules. Respect of the brand is a big thing on here.
Don Schefman’s bark is worse than his bite. I hope?
There’s a real good vibe on here. You’re made to feel welcome by @bodia @ScottR @DreamTheaterRules to name a few.
@sergiodeblanc will circle you like, like, like (can I say crazed hyena? No I’ll just think it, he can’t hold it against me then) somebody waiting for you to say something contentious or against the rules and then stand back and watch the fireworks fly.
This is a real good place to be, just jealous that I’m across the pond and it would be horrendously expensive to hang out with any of you guys at open days at PRS.
If you read any of the threads about the customer service that PRS give, you’ll know any issue with your guitar is not an issue. PRSh is passionate about his instruments and doesn’t put his signature to the SE range lightly.
Lastly photos. If you don’t post them, it’s assumed that your guitar is a Epi or Hello Kitty Uke. So get some on here soon, please.
It's not so much about criticism of the brand, but overall positivity. We're pretty well self-moderated in that regard. You'd get just as much backlash if you told someone you think his new puppy is ugly or the song he wrote is no good. That's what The Gear Page and Harmony Central are for.
Anyway, Ken, I hope you get a positive resolution from your dealer and PRS and that you stick around for the fun here.
1. General Forum Conduct and Etiquette
Our rules are simple: "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything", "treat others as you wish to be treated", etc.
We're all here for the love of music and instruments. Please treat your fellow forum members with respect and with respect for their opinion, as different as it may be from your own. Any "trolling", personal attacks or unbecoming behavior is against forum rules and won't be tolerated (and it just makes you look bad). We won't agree on everything, but let's not focus on disagreements.
What garrett said.
For me, it boils down to 'don't be a jerk'. Don't come in ranting and raving (not saying the OP did - this is just a generalization). Don't throw accusations around. Don't pronounce that because your guitar has an issue, they all have issues.
Criticism can be handled as long as it's presented well. The reclaimed wood CE-24 and Vela series was well-received, but there were some people who didn't like it and said so. But they weren't jerks about it.
So just don't be a jerk.
We have those positions filled.
Please don't delete it, just maybe change it to "why I love the PRS forum, PRS forum members and PRS guitars."
But please don't leave either. Then we'd only have ourselves to pick on!
Welcome to the forum. I think that if you do hang around, you'll find this place to be pretty cool. I've seen two guys lately in the EBMM forum come in with first posts complaining about new guitars and issues with them or with customer service from Ernie Ball. They got chopped down pretty quickly. So please don't take offense. It just seems to hit "the regulars" in the wrong way when it at least appears that a new guy signed up for the forum and complains about something in the first post. I know, it's not fair. "Life is not fair. Is it fair that you were born like this?"
Plus, some guys get offended if you don't love your PRS. Like you would think it might be Paul's mother posting, or maybe his grumpy uncle. But most of the guys are very cool and fun loving and we even have a few crazy people here (Scott should be along any time now).
Generally, a real crack can be felt and would also crack the finish. I'd have it looked at by the dealer and if there is a problem, it will get fixed.
It's like we were separated at birth!
Edit: I've been trying for 10 minutes to post a pic of Ty Webb from Caddyshack so people would get the reference. Can't get the linky to worky
Wait!!! When did they slip THAT in there? Nobody said anything about being "nice" when I joined. Ain't nobody got time for that.
How old are you lol
There's another, secret set of rules. In it we had one stipulating that we had to pick on you for not having an Archon, but that one has obviously been stricken.
The rule about hassling Sergio for his picture quality is still on the books, though, despite him taking nice pictures for quite some time now.
Oh, and nobody has to be nice to @alantig. Obviously.
Legit belly laugh!
@Ken Kelly now your thread has been hijacked by the band of brothers. Just let them bicker amongst themselves for a bit and they’ll forget why they came!!
@bodia will start talking about vasectomies!
