Modding S2 for middle strat pickup?

Has anyone just routed out the area in between the bridge and neck pickups on an S2 so you could switch the selector to a 5-way and put like a strat middle in?

Think it's a good idea?

Ok, so I'm eventually going to do this. I have a Dimarzio True Velvet middle on order, and an extra pickguard, and will give this a shot and post pics when I'm done.

@justmund did something similar I think? Though not a strat pickup. Haven't seen him in a while. He's Australian, and that continent is best known for its wide range of abilities to kill you.

He popped in for a couple of posts last month (or August). I got an email from him a few weeks back. Busy making beer.

But, you are correct, he did add a middle pickup to a two humbucker guitar. Can't remember if it was a DC-22?????
