Hi everyone,

In the past, I’ve had no problem using a toothpick to tighten up strap buttons on solid body guitars. It’s worked very well in the past. However, the strap button on the top horn of my SE Hollowbody keeps working loose. it feels like the screw is just going through the laminate body - not into a deep block of wood. if there is no wooden block, then the toothpick idea obviously won’t work.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Perhaps there is a solid piece of wood inside the horn to reinforce the button? It would seem odd for the screw to simply attach to the laminate, no? But it doesn’t feel solid, like there is a wooden block there.

I had the same issue with my SE HB Piezo but was able to fix it with the toothpick method. I’m pretty sure there is a wood block inside to support the strap button screw.
