is this a headstock repair?

Hey guys, first post! I just traded a Mesa roadster Combo for a 2008 PRS standard 24. I looked the guitar over and it seemed great, but I got home and realized that there was something weird with the headstock. My question: is this a headstock repair?

Do the wings look different than the main body of the headstock? That's normal. If that's not it, post up a pic and we'll all chime in with the most smart a$$ answers we can come up with. :vroam:
