Help removing buttons from Phase II tuners

I have a 2008 DGT and was going to put on different tuner buttons. I took the string off and remove the screw that goes into the button but the button doesn't come off even if I pull really hard. Is there something else which is also holding the button on?

I heard that sometimes the buttons on those tuners could slip so hopefully a previous owner didn't super glue them on or something.
