One of the big features of the DGT are the faux bone tuner buttons. David Grissom swears this made a huge difference for him, taking like a pound off the guitar from the metal buttons. Have you all found this to be true? It’s a really simple mod that I would totally do to my guitars if it really made a difference.

Yeah, it helps a bit, especially with the older Phase I tuners.

I’ve gone back and forth a couple times with Phase II “mini” buttons and the “ebony” buttons, and find those are fairly similar in weight. So I went with whichever looked “right”.

For anyone interested. Below are the weight measurements I took on the tuner buttons I had on hand at the time. All were from cast metal tuners. What it showed me was changing out the metal buttons for ether wood or plastic gave an approximate weight savings of one to two once’s. To put it into perspective it’s like removing a 1 1/2 once (46 grams) 9 volt battery from the end of your headstock. I’ll let others debate on how it can change your tone.
