Anyone Ever Try 85/15s in a McCarty 594?

I have a pair of 85/15s from another PRS I have and was considering putting the 85/15 bridge into my SC594. Anyone ever tried it out before or have a video of one to gauge how it sounds? The 85/15 is my favorite PRS pickup, but I'm guessing it would sound a little different compared to a Custom 24 with 85/15s.

I bet it would sound great! I have a set of 85/15's in an OG Singlecut and it is killer; I like them more than the original #7's that were in it and those are great pickups. Not a direct comparison as my SC has the 25" scale and wrap bridge, but if you dig the 85/15, I can't see it sounding bad. You can always take it out if it doesn't work for you.

I have the same thought. I'd like a 22-fret PRS with 85/15s, and I really don't see an option like I like being currently offered. Swapping 85/15s into a 594 could be the answer.

If you like what the 85/15 does, I'm sure it'll sound good!

My worry is how it will balance tonally with the 58/15 LT in the neck. I know there are multiple other differences, but my 594 (58/15 LT) and CU22 (85/15) sounded way different.

I'd try it.

I love the 85/15s, though admittedly, I have them in a CU24 PS model.

Still...if it doesn't work, put it back in original condition.
