I have a few different SE's. The only one I have really modified is the Bernie, as it's a regular in my gig rotation. It was fine in stock form, but I went a bit further with locking tuners, Doug Aldrich pickups, new toggle switch, and "the good stuff" wiring. Man, it just has "it" for great hard rock crunch. Yesterday I literally capped it off with this TRC from our buds over in Germany.
