PRS told me the US made rings they have would work, but there would be a larger gap between the ring and the pickups. Are there any cheaper alternatives than paying 30 bucks for a small piece of plastic?

Aye, but are there covers available for these new PRS pickups that have square edges? Also, they don't appear to be splittable according to the store website.
I have a few things I am looking for in a good set of pickups to upgrade this bad boy:
1. I don't care who makes the pickups.
2. I do like the characteristic PRS sound, so that likely means PRS pickups - I'd assume.
3. I don't want anything that would be super hi-output. The Tremonti bridge...
This doesn't make sense. I'm pretty sure from what other people have said, and my own experience, that they sound identical to the core lineup - they just don't look as good.
I personally think PRS needs to get rid of most of the signature SE models, or at least have normal SE models that aren't goofed up with stupid colors, names, or other dumb traits.
